When a foreign object entered their dimension, it introduced chaos forcing them to flee as the reality crumpled resulting in them fleeing to the corners of our system. They reside within odd places in space which are inhospitable to natives of the plane but are composed of relative pure mathematics with minimal stochastic effects to account for.
